How long does it last?
Unlike traditional tattoos, permanent makeup is done with pigments that fade over time. The amount of time that it takes to fade will depend on the client’s skin, health, lifestyle and how well the tattoo is maintained.
Generally, the brows last anywhere from 1-3 years , Lips: 2-5 years, Eyeliner: 1-2 years and Scalp Micropigmentation: 2-6years. Areola Restoration is done with permanent pigment(which is made to last a lifetime) as opposed to permanent makeup pigment which is made to fade over time.
How long does the procedure last?
Because everyone's skin is unique and absorbs pigment differently, I ask my brow, lip, eyeliner and full areola restoration clients to plan for a total of 3 hours. This excludes anyone coming in for scalp micropigmentation, scar camouflage, and dry tattoo as these type of services can vary in length of time depending on how large of an area I will be covering.
As far as saline removal/ permanent makeup removal or lightening, I ask for my clients to plan for 1 hour.
Does it hurt?
Because everyone's pain tolerance is different, it is very hard to say exactly how you will experience the procedure. Most people tell me that it's more comfortable than they thought it would be. I have numbing gels available should they be necessary.
Can I get microblading on previously tattooed eyebrows?
No. Microblading can not go over top of previous work. If you have questions about your already tattooed brows we can discuss the possibility of powder brows, color correction or lightening/removal.
I have no brows. Can I still get this procedure?
Absolutely! Permanent Makeup is a fantastic option for you.
What is the healing process like?
The visible healing process lasts about 2 weeks. During this time your skin will go through many stages from getting darker to getting very light to some scabbing. It is completely normal for some strokes to fade or completely disappear after your 1st session. This is why a touch up session is needed after 6 weeks (This is when you have fully healed).
Why is a touch up visit necessary?
With any tattoo and permanent makeup procedure, there is always a certain amount of pigment that will fade. This fade rate will vary from person to person. It is impossible to predict how much pigment your body will keep and reject. During your 6-8 week appointment, I will assess the way your body has processed the pigment and make any necessary adjustments.
Why can't I drink alcohol or have caffeine before my appointment?
These drinks will thin your blood which will in turn push the pigment out while I'm preforming the procedure. I ask that you refrain from caffeine or alcohol consumption for 24 hours prior to your appointment for best healed results.
